Prevailing Wage Compliance Analyst
Summary
As a Prevailing Wage compliance analyst in Greenskies’ Accounting team, you will report to the Assistant Controller to help ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor standards, including prevailing wage, certified payroll, and apprenticeship requirements. This contract role plays a critical part in maintaining eligibility for tax incentives, protecting the company from compliance risk, and supporting smooth project execution across multiple job sites.
Location(s): Hybrid - North Haven, CT/Remote
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and interpret prevailing wage laws including Davis Bacon Act, state wage determinations, and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) labor requirements relevant to solar projects.
- Review certified payroll reports (CPRs) from subcontractors and internal teams for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Verify worker classifications to ensure labor categories align with wage determinations and project scopes.
- Audit payroll documentation, including timesheets, pay stubs, fringe benefit records, and apprenticeship participation.
- Track apprenticeship utilization to ensure compliance with IRA apprenticeship requirements and state mandates.
- Communicate with subcontractors to resolve discrepancies, request missing documentation, and provide guidance on compliance expectations.
- Maintain organized compliance records for internal audits, external audits, and incentive program verification.
- Prepare compliance reports for project managers, legal teams, and executive leadership.
- Support project onboarding by educating subcontractors on prevailing wage requirements and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience with prevailing wage compliance, labor compliance, payroll auditing, or related regulatory roles.
- Familiarity with IRA prevailing wage & apprenticeship requirements.
- Strong understanding of construction labor classifications, especially within renewable energy or solar projects.
- Proficiency with certified payroll systems (e.g., LCPtracker, SURGE).
