South Windsor council OKs contracts for school solar panels

The Town Council on Monday unanimously approved agreements with Greenskies Clear Energy to install solar panels on Wapping, Philip R. Smith, and Orchard Hill elementary schools and, depending on the bid, at the high school and Eli Terry Elementary School as well.

Mayor: Solar Farm Coming To Old Landfill

Greenskies, a solar energy developer based in Middletown, is building a 1.3 MW DC solar project at the old landfill. The solar farm, which will be comprised of about 4,000 solar panels on a 20-acre capped landfill site, will generate just under 1 megawatt of power per year.
