Middletown-based Greenskies Renewable Energy, which has been called the most prolific solar developer in Connecticut, has been purchased by Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Clean Focus Yield Limited, a group of renewable-energy companies.
Lewis County’s solar project has kicked off a little later than planned, but county officials say they still expect the array to start providing low-cost power before the end of the year.
“The goal is still to be up and running this fall,” County Manager Ryan M. Piche said.
Connecticut-based Greenskies Renewable Energy has signed a contract with the City of Middletown, Conn., to build a 217 kW solar photovoltaic system on a parcel of city property adjacent to the Higby/Bacon Water Treatment Plant.
The Water Pollution Control Authority unanimously voted Tuesday night to move forward with a proposal to work with Greenskies Renewable Energy to bring numerous solar panels to the Pawcatuck and borough sewage treatment plants.
