Greenskies Clean Energy said it completed a 1.17 MW solar array for the Town of East Haven, Connecticut. The project, at a five-acre capped landfill, includes about 3,000 solar panels.

Five acres of otherwise unusable land has been turned into a moneymaker for the town in the form of a solar panel array that will provide energy to several municipal buildings, including East Haven High School.

The first of nine projects that Greenskies plans to develop is in service, but the state’s virtual net metering cap may slow additional capacity from being built.
