The first quarter of 2016 saw a shake-up in the ranking of leading commercial and industrial (C&I) solar installers in the United States, according to the latest report from GTM Research’s Leaderboard service. The company says that Greenskies Renewable Energy replaced SolarCity as the leading installer in the space during the quarter with a 5.5% market share, compared to SolarCity’s 4.9%.

Torrington leases land for installation of solar array

The city is aiming to bring in revenue from a currently unused piece of land and provide for the production of renewable energy. The City Council approved having a capped landfill become the site of a solar array Monday. The council voted to authorize Mayor Elinor Carbone to lease the property at 105 Vista Drive to GRE GACRUX LLC., otherwise known as Greenskies Renewable Energy, a Middletown-based company.

Greenskies to install solar panels on middle school roofs
