Solar Project Development Analyst

Summary

The Solar Project Development Analyst will support all aspects of both internal and external management of developing and screening distributed generation solar projects. This position will report to the VP of Development and work with a team of dedicated solar developers and engineers. The development team is focused on securing use permits, interconnection agreements, and land control for a large portfolio of distributed generation projects across the country and this role contribute to all aspects of that team. The role will involve cross departmental communication with finance, engineering, and construction teams. Additionally the Solar Project Development Analyst will be expected to think critically to find creative solutions to development hurdles and be able to work both independently and closely with other team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for the acquisition of interconnection agreements, use permits, environmental permits, land entitlement, and revenue contracts.
  • Use GIS and software tools to screen prospective sites for suitability of solar development and construction
  • Generate estimates for project development and construction costs
  • Perform research for and submittal to local municipal, state, and/or federal offices for zoning, use, and environmental permits.
  • Management of documentation for all aspects of project development process.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, budgeting, and internal tracking and reporting.
  • Use creative problem solving and teamwork with development group to de-risk development assets
  • Attend field site visits.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Prefer background in solar development, GIS, land use planning, or real estate development
  • Minimum of one year of experience with renewable energy design and project development with preference for 2+ years experience
  • Direct experience with ground mounted solar project development preferred
  • Experience with project management in development or construction preferred
  • Detailed oriented and able to manage complex deliverables on time
  • Team oriented and has strong communication skills
  • Travel required
