Summary

The Emerging Energy Solutions Manager will be a key contributor in defining and implementing a broad spectrum of advanced energy solutions, encompassing battery systems, EV charging infrastructure, long-duration storage technologies, and combined heat and power (CHP) applications. This position demands a blend of cutting-edge technical expertise, forward-thinking engineering practices, and strategic business development capabilities. The ideal candidate possesses a solid engineering foundation and a proven ability to deliver solutions that address multifaceted business and operational challenges. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering & Procurement, the Emerging Energy Solutions Manager will be instrumental in advancing our company’s strategic goals in the rapidly evolving energy landscape.

  • Location: New Haven, CT
  • Remote Work Option: May work from home anywhere within the United States
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to company headquarters and job sites and client meetings in Connecticut, New Jersey and California.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive playbooks for a broad range of emerging energy solutions—including battery energy storage, EV charging, long-duration storage, combined heat and power (CHP), and other advanced technologies—detailing step-by-step procedures, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Design and implement efficient, standardized processes that guide project execution from RFP preparation, vendor selection, and contract negotiations through commissioning and operational handoff, ensuring scalability and adaptability across various energy solutions.
  • Create and validate system-level integration frameworks that seamlessly combine diverse energy assets—such as batteries, CHP systems, EV charging stations, and other distributed energy resources—into reliable, cost-effective, and high-performing solutions.
  • Evaluate and select vendors and technologies for a wide array of energy solutions, leveraging deep technical knowledge to manage RFP processes and ensure the selection of optimal, future-proof products and systems.
  • Provide expert technical support and strategic insights to business development, sales, project pricing, and EPC teams, ensuring that project proposals and executions are technically sound, economically viable, and aligned with client needs and regulatory requirements.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Masters’s degree in Energy, Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering and two years’ experience in systems, mechanical or electrical engineering.

Experience or skills must include:

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary projects to meet deliverables and deadlines

Codes & Standards Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, and guidelines (e.g., IEEE, UL, NEC, NSF).

Vendor & RFP Experience:

  • Practical experience managing vendor selection and supporting procurement evaluations

Tools & Software:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAD, MS Project and Excel.
