Greenskies Hosts Governor Lamont and State Leaders at West Haven Landfill Solar Project

The event marked the signing of Public Act 26-127 and highlighted how community solar can put former landfill space to productive use while delivering benefits to Connecticut residents.

West Haven, CT (July 15, 2026) - Greenskies Clean Energy hosted Governor Ned Lamont, representatives from DEEP (Department of Energy & Environmental Protection), West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer, state leaders, partners, and clean energy advocates at its West Haven landfill solar project as Connecticut marked the signing of Public Act 26-127.

The West Haven site and its companion project on Spring Street total 2.3 MW of clean energy capacity and are projected to generate more than 3.3 million kWh of electricity in the first year. Through SCEF (Shared Clean Energy Facilities), Connecticut’s community solar program, the projects help provide discounted clean energy to more than 350 low-income households.
