Greenskies Renewable Energy has been designated the approved solar contractor for school districts in northern and central New York state and Long Island, according to the New York Power Authority, which administers the state’s K-Solar program.

In an effort to cut costs, the town’s Water Pollution Control Authority is looking into the possibility of putting solar arrays at two of the town’s wastewater treatment plants.

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) has announced the opportunity for school districts in the state to “go solar” will be expedited after selecting two additional solar power vendors under Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s K-Solar initiative, a program that has been in the works since January 2014.
