Sprague officials have hired Middletown's Greenskies Renewable Energy to build and maintain a 150-kilowatt solar array at a wastewater plant in the town's Baltic section.

The ground-mounted array is expected to produce 131 megawatt hours of power annually, offsetting 90 percent of the plant's power needs, Greenskies said this week.

Construction will start next spring. Greenskies has a 20-year agreement to sell the power to Sprague's water and sewer authority.
