Greenskies Clean Focus completed the second of nine offsite solar systems planned for the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU).

A solar farm that was recently installed in North Stonington is expected to provide more than $9 million in energy savings for five Connecticut State Colleges and Universities campuses.

This month, Lafayette College took a major step toward advancing its carbon neutrality commitment pledge. As of March 1, the college’s on-campus solar array is operational on the roof of Kirby Sports Center.

Covenant Living of Cromwell, Conn., and Greenskies Clean Focus have teamed up to install a 159 kW solar energy system on the new Town Center building roof. In addition to reducing operating costs, this solar array will benefit the community in other ways.

Covenant Living of Cromwell has partnered with Greenskies Clean Focus and Titan Energy, a leading full-service energy consulting company, to install a 159-kW solar energy system on the new Town Center building roof.

The Town Center at Covenant Living of Cromwell, a continuing care retirement community in Connecticut, is committed to conserving energy and becoming more sustainable for the future while at the same time lowering operational expenses, according to Executive Director Dan Stegbauer.

Energy firm Greenskies Clean Focus, which is developing both projects, said the solar farms will be based on agricultural land, an intersection sometimes known as “agrivoltaics” or “agrisolar.”

Greenskies’ new pair of dual-purpose solar power generation and agricultural co-use projects in Orange and East Windsor, Conn., will begin construction later this year after recently receiving approval from the Connecticut Siting Council.

Energy firm Greenskies Clean Focus, which is developing both projects, said the solar farms will be based on agricultural land, an intersection sometimes known as “agrivoltaics” or “agrisolar.” Construction is expected to begin later this year, according to company officials.
