Senior Procurement Buyer

Summary

Greenskies is looking for a Senior Procurement Buyer. The role encompasses the execution of equipment procurement. The successful candidate will thrive in a team setting and interact with project management, engineering, asset management, operations & maintenance, and external vendors or contractors. The Buyer reports directly to the Director of Procurement.

Location: North Haven, Connecticut (Hybrid in-office and remote)


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Solicit vendors, analyze costs, negotiate prices, and make awards in the acquisition of materials and services
  • Generate RFPs, RFQs, and purchase orders. Review, approve, and/or reject vendor invoices
  • Utilize ERP/SAP for ordering and inventory management
  • Oversee vendors and monitor supply chain
  • Resolve any vendor issues regarding schedules, quality, or costs
  • Provide supply chain information, issues, and resolutions to management
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in purchasing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent purchasing experience preferred
  • Must have ERP experience. SAP preferred
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
