Target stores

Target has been an amazing partner for solar installations. In 2011, we started our first project with Target and it has since proven to be immensely beneficial to them in terms of cost savings and environmental impact.

We design, develop, finance, own and maintain the majority of Target's solar installations. Target has agreed to purchase 100 percent of the electricity produced at each of the sites at a fixed and sharply discounted rate for the length of the contract. Each roof-top array will produce between 20 and 30 percent of the total electricity requirements of the retail outlet on which it is built.

Between retail outlets and distribution centers we've installed solar on more than 250 locations across the country. These arrays will produce a combined total of more than 130 megawatts of clean electric power for Target.

What is a PPA?

For our commercial and industrial clients, Greenskies utilizes a Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) that has since become the standard for all our C&I clients. The PPA allows building owners to obtain their green energy objectives and realize substantial savings with no capital outlay. The relationship is beneficial as commercial building owners do not have the ability to monetize current incentives and the PPA allows them to make significant investments with only an obligation to purchase the electricity generated at a reduced rate for the term of the PPA.

The Benefits of a PPA

  • No upfront capital costs
  • Savings start immediately after installation becomes operational
  • Fixed rate over 20 years so you know exactly how much you’ll be saving
